Organizational Information:

At Wellpoint Care Network, we have seen exactly how trauma, poverty, systemic racism, social injustices, and other barriers create instability in all areas of life. The people in our care face education and health disparities, high unemployment rates and unaffordable housing. Whats worse, many have lost connections to resources, family, friends, and other support systems. We have seen the toll it has on a persons physical, emotional, and financial well-being to try and successfully navigate complex systems that may have failed them in the past.

We believe there is a better way. So, we have anchored ourselves in our 170 years of caring for our neighbors through modernized human services.

Wellpoint Care Network provides a rich continuum of services, including:

    Child Welfare and Foster Care

Support for youth who have aged out of care

    Care Coordination and Wraparound services

Mental health therapy and supports such as our Clinic, Family Preservation, Caregiver Support, and Integrated Community Treatment

Professional education and clinical consultation (for organizations, schools, and individual/family)

Wellpoint Care also works to promote a diverse and caregiving environment to ensure that those we serve and employ are valued, accepted, respected, and treated equitably.

Equity means we work tirelessly toward fair and just treatment, systems, and policies. At Wellpoint Care Network, we believe that we are accountable individually and collectively when inequity or injustice replaces equity and inclusion.

Inclusivity means that we consciously build groups that welcome and celebrate differences in age, race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, religion, gender expression, education, socio-economic background, personal history, geographical location, marital status, parental status, and work experiences.

Interested parties please apply online. We are committed to enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion and strongly encourage minority candidates to apply. For more information, visit our website www.wellpointcare.org.

About this directory

The first US job board built for Black healthcare workers.

Black Health Careers aggregates verified healthcare roles from hospitals, community health centers, public health agencies, and research institutions actively recruiting Black clinicians and allied health workers. Whether you're searching black healthcare jobs near you, hunting for black nurse jobs, or looking for healthcare jobs for Black professionals in a specific city or state, every listing here is vetted for fit with our editorial mission: close the racial gap in clinical care.

Why a job board specifically for Black healthcare workers?

Black patients have measurably better outcomes when treated by Black clinicians: lower infant mortality, lower 30-day readmissions, higher trust ratings, and faster diagnoses. But Black professionals make up only 5% of US physicians, 11% of registered nurses, and 4% of dentists, despite being 14% of the population. The pipeline issue is real; the placement gap is also real. Most healthcare job boards optimize for volume, not for matching Black candidates with employers that have a track record of supporting Black staff and serving Black patients.

We curate Black healthcare jobs at hospitals, FQHCs, nonprofits, and research universities that meet at least one of three bars: (1) measurable Black workforce representation at the practice level, (2) a published health-equity strategy with line-item budgets, (3) a verified pattern of supporting Black-owned clinics and HBCUs.

Who lists here?

Verified employers include academic medical centers (Howard, Meharry, Morehouse and partner institutions), large hospital systems with active Black-clinician recruitment programs, public health departments running maternal-health and chronic-disease equity initiatives, and Black-owned practices growing their teams. The aggregator feed pulls additional openings nightly from HBCU Connect, the largest career platform serving HBCU alumni.

Roles posted here

We list every healthcare role tier, not just physicians. The active job mix includes full-time, part-time, contract, per diem, locum tenens, fellowship, and residency positions across primary care, behavioral health, obstetrics, cardiology, oncology, public health, nursing, allied health, doulas + midwifery, dentistry, pharmacy, and care coordination.
