Georgia operates separate loan-repayment programs for rural physicians, behavioral health providers, PAs, APRNs, nurse faculty, and dentists, all administered by the Georgia Board of Health Care Workforce. The Physicians for Rural Areas program offers up to $100,000 over 4 years; the Behavioral Health Provider LRP caps at $150,000 lifetime.

Georgia Behavioral Health Provider Loan Repayment Program

(GBHPLRP)

Georgia Board of Health Care Workforce

Up to $150,000 lifetime for behavioral health providers in Georgia Mental Health HPSAs. Amounts scale by credential.

Award

Across 4-year service term in a Mental Health HPSA, full-time (40 hrs/wk, 32 hrs direct patient contact): Doctoral psychologists, LCSWs, LPCs, LMFTs: $80,000 Non-doctoral clinical nurse social workers, LPCs, school psychologists, LMFTs: $40,000 Licensed chemical dependency counselors (associate degree) or other behavioral health licensees: $10,000 Lifetime cap: $150,000.
