Zepbound

Also known as: Branded tirzepatide for weight loss

Zepbound is the branded tirzepatide formulation approved by the FDA in 2023 for chronic weight management. Same active molecule as Mounjaro (the type 2 diabetes formulation), administered as a weekly subcutaneous injection. Clinical trials showed slightly superior weight loss to Wegovy at equivalent doses.

List price $1,000-$1,500/month. Insurance coverage and Medicaid coverage are similar to Wegovy (limited). See also tirzepatide.
