Methodology & data sources
Program names, income limits, phone lines and state PrEP programs were read on October 26, 2026 from each state's HIV program pages, and organizations' descriptions from their own sites; each state page lists its sources. Counts of people living with HIV and new diagnoses come from CDC's HIV Surveillance Data Release Tables for 2024, which CDC labels provisional; the share of new diagnoses among Black residents 13 and older is our arithmetic from CDC's counts. Where we could not confirm a fact, the page leaves it out.
