About this event

Chicago Defender Charities hosts the 2026 Bud Billiken Parade on Saturday, August 8, stepping off at 10am from 39th Street and King Drive and traveling south to 51st Street. The It Takes A Village Back-to-School Festival follows in Washington Park until 4pm. Families can access health and wellness resources, free school supplies, free haircuts and hairstyling, and a workforce pavilion. General admission is free.
